    2. After the death of William's mother in 1842, he lived in the home of Joseph Smith at Nauvoo, Illinois. He married Olive Farr in 1843.
    3. William started west with Mormon pioneers in 1846 and joined the Mormon Battalion in the Mexican War. He was a private in Company "B".
    4. Missionary and mission president in South Africa, 1852-1857.
    5. Resided in Utah until 1887, when he moved to Idaho.
