    1. Ada was an only child.
    2. She died from complications of a throat infection that went to her heart 3 years after Jim was born. Antiobiotics would have probably saved her.

Odessa High School and she won the Columbia University Scholarship in 1917 which would have admitter her as an honor student in the State University of Missouri. She then entered Warrensburg State Teachers College (The Normal) and was a successful teacher in Marshall, MO. before she married Marion F. Parker.
