OCCUPATION: Farmer BURIAL: Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney, Collin County, Texas. NOTES: 1. Went to Collin County, Texas in 1857/8. He purchased land at $12.50 an acre in Collin and Dallas County, Texas. He settled on Dallas-Preston Rd 10 miles west of McKinney. 2. Served in the CSA.

OCCUPATION: Farmer NOTES: 1. Family moved to Texas in 1858. 2. Farmed land in West Collin County, Texas near Rock Hill Community. 3. Before the Civil War, he his father and others drove a large herd of cattle from Missouri to California. 4. He served during the Civil War and sustained a leg and hand wound. 5. A lunacy hearing was held for him on 29 Jan 1897, and he was committed to the mental institution at Terrell, Texas, where he remained the rest of his life.
NOTES: 1. At one time he owned 1280 acres of land in Pacos County, Texas. Known in 1935 as Section 3, Block 203, of John W. Field Estate.
OCCUPATION: Farmer & Stockman NOTES: 1. Enlisted in the Civil War joining the Confederacy in Company H, 2nd Missouri Volunteers Infantry. His regiment was first assigned to the department of the Mississippi and with the force participated in the battles of Cornith, Iuka, and Vicksburg. 2. He was later captured and immediately released, joining the army of Tennessee under General Joseph T. Johnson. 3. He participated in the Atlanta campaign and the battle of Franklin and Nashville. 4. Owned land in Collin, Denton, and Moore Counties, Texas and retired from farming in 1908. 5. One of the organizers of the Continental State Bank of McKinney, and was elected its vice president. 6. He also served on the Board of Directors of the bank which was later known as the Central State Bank and of the Continental Bank and Trust Company of Fort Worth.
