NOTES:
    1. Enlisted in the Civil War joining the Confederacy in Company H, 2nd Missouri Volunteers Infantry. His regiment was first assigned to the department of the Mississippi and with the force participated in the battles of Cornith, Iuka, and Vicksburg.
    2. He was later captured and immediately released, joining the army of Tennessee under General Joseph T. Johnson.
    3. He participated in the Atlanta campaign and the battle of Franklin and Nashville.
    4. Owned land in Collin, Denton, and Moore Counties, Texas and retired from farming in 1908.
    5. One of the organizers of the Continental State Bank of McKinney, and was elected its vice president.
    6. He also served on the Board of Directors of the bank which was later known as the Central State Bank and of the Continental Bank and Trust Company of Fort Worth.
