Notes:
Dad (Paul Curtis Rudiger) came to America at the age of 11 years. His grandmother brought him over and he lived with an Aunt Bertha and Uncle Max Reim (his mothers brother). He had two younger brothers, Max and Kurt, and one sister Elizabeth. He went to a Luthern boys school in Germany and had finished his education to the Junior College level. He would then have to recieve militay training as all boys in Germany recieved at a certain age. His mother did not want him to go into training so she sent him to America. He farmed for his uncle. Was married in Ithica, Nebraska.

After Dad and Mama were married they purchased a house in Memphis, Nebraska where Dad worked for Amour Meat Packing Company. He was boss of an ice gang that Amour would send from Omaha to Memphis. They cut ice and stored it in a large ice house that was three blocks long or better. I was nine or ten (Evelyn Alpha Rudiger Tomanio) when the plant burned down. Dad always said "Amour set it on fire" as artificial ice making was invented. After the plant burned down, Uncle Max retired and Herman Reim took over the farm so Dad went back to farm untill he retired and moved back to town.

By the time we moved to the farm all were gone from home but Lucille, Jim, Tootie, Don and me (Evelyn). Irene was home off and on as she was working. Glen and Charles also were gone and come home on weekends.

Rudy was away to school for so long and then married and lived in Chicago so untill the depression hit we really didn't see to much of him. Then he farmed near by .. by that time we all were gone from home.

Written by Evelyn Alpha (Rudiger) Tomanio (1914- ), and provided "Minerva Powers and Paul Curtis Rudiger Family History" to Kenneth M. Reim (1926- ) 5 Jan 1996.

Herman A. Reim (1892-1973) in letter to son Kenneth M. Reim (1926- ) dated 20 Oct 1967, with marked up pedigree chart revised 26 Dec 1967, noted that his father Max Bruno Reim (1862-1931) came to the United States from Germany when he was 18 years old (1880), went back to Germany and then brought back to the United States in 1888 Paul Curtis Rudiger (1875-1949), his nephew, to live with him.
