       Simeon Rood served in the Revolutionary War.  He enlisted in Connecticut, 24 June and served 6 months as a private in Capt. Rogers Company in Col. Gay's and Hearts Connecticut Regiments.  He fought in the battles of Long Island and White Plains.
       He enlisted 19 May 1777 and served 3 years in Capt. Samuel's, Granger's, Beebe's and Ten Fyke's companies;and in Lt. Col. Isaac Sherman's and Col. Charles Webb's Connecticut Regiments.  He fought in the battles of White Marsh, Monmouth where he was wounded, and Stony Point.
       Simeon was allowed a pension on his application, ex. 25 May 1818, at which time he was a resident of Heading, Steuben County, New York.  In 1820 he was living in Cate, NY.
       Simeon and his son, Simeon were from Sandgate, Vermont.
