       Wilson Elijah Stebbins was a farmer and carpenter.  He was a member of the Freewill Baptist church and was a democrat.  He lived in Pulteney, NY and Rochester, NY.
       The family was very patriotic.  Their sons all served in the Civil War.  George and James served from the beginning to the end but died soon after they were mustered out.  William and Ephraim were invalids as a result of hardships and exposure.  charles went with the 18th Michigan Volunteers and died at Nashville while his regiment was guarding the city.  William died at Nashville.
