       Marmaduke Pray came to Waterville, Ohio with his parents in 1831.  He was an enthusiastic woodsman and hunter in his youth and relates stirring tales of adventure in the wilds of Lucas Co. which he has seen change from a land of deer and wild turkeys to a densely populated and productive region.

       Archibald was born at the old homestead neat Waterville and attended the district school near his home.  After his marriage he became active in local affairs and was a staunch Republican, but later cast his vote independently.  He was very successful at agricultural pursuits and was most interested in the importation of pure bred Percheron and Belgian Stallions.
