Timothy HUNTER
Vermont Families in 1791, Vol. 2, p. 124-127 Timothy lived in Shoreham where his name appears on the tax lists for the years 1790 through 1793 (TR, loose papers.) He then removed to Ticonderoga (Crown Point before 1804,) Essex county, NY (1800 NY census, Crown Point, 296; 1810 NY census, Ticonderoga, 63) where he resided until returning to Shoreham in 181 (LR, 5; 20, he of Ticonderoga.) He remained in Shoreham through 1820 (TR, loose papers) serving as the town's surveyor of highways in 1816 (TR, 1806-1841, 214.) In 1821, he removed to Fairfield where he purchased land on the eastern shore of Fairfield Pond (LR, 6:512.) There he operated a sawmill using the outlet of the pond for water power and the pond itself for transporting logs and cut timber. He managed the forest on his property and engaged in general farming (Fairfield LR, 8: 172.) On 10 May 1845 Timothy signed his will leaving all his property to his wife Eunice. The will was presented to probate 28 Jun 1845. (Franklin PR, Z: 406.)
Vermont Families in 1791, Vol. 2, p. 124-127 Eunice was baptized in the Northbury Parish, Waterbury, CT (now Plymouth;) Plymouth Congregational CR, 1:16, and was buried in the family plot, Fairfield.
