John HUNTER

By trade a wheelwright - had a farm in Voluntown, Connecticut - prayed standing. In 1782, his wife received a quit claim deed of Gain Miller of Samuel Hunter's right in Susquehanna lands. His wife, Rebecca, a congregationalist, and long a worthy member. John became pastor of the church in Canaan, Connecticut in 1761. He moved to Stillwater, Saratoga County, New York in 1763. He and Rebecca were among the early settlers of Saratoga. They settled in New York, near Round Lake, now Malta.
