For nearly 20 years from about 1675 he resided in Groton, Mass. where in 1679 he was chosen a representative to Gen'l Ct & he performed garrison duty in King William's War in 1691. From Groton he went to Chebaco parish, Ipswich, Mass. and finally rem. to Preston, CT where he died in 1715. With his 2nd wife, Mary he was admitted to the church in Preston, 15 Nov 1704.

He live in Preston, Connecticut as evidenced by a deed and the distribution of the estate of Jonathan Tracy who, on the 29 Nov 1711, conveyed "unto my son and daughter" Benjamin Parish and Mary his wife" about "thirty and five acres" of land "Situate and being in Preston where said Benjamin Parish's dwelling house now stands.

Stiles Family History by John Ford Parrish Vital Records of Norwich, 1659-1848, Part 2, Hartford Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Connecticut 1913 Family Records of John Ford Parish kept by his son, Julian Parish, Salt Lake City Samuel apparently follows closely in the footsteps of his father, for in 1698/99 and 1700 his name appears in the church records at Essex, Mass., then in Chebacco Parish, and later, after his father went to Stoningham, Conn., he was admitted an inhabitant of Norwich, Conn., in 1716. On 18 Apr 1719, and again on 28 Apr 1719 he bought land there, situated on the west side of the Quinnebaug River, and made it the homestead. In a quitclaim deed after his death, his children Joel, Solomon, Nathaniel and Mary Parish relinquished this same tract to "our brother Samuel Parish," 9 June 1735, the others, Nehemiah and Rebecca not being of age at that time. He died in May 1735. Samuel and his brother-in-law David Tracy were contributors in 1758 to the building of the Amenia church of Christ in the Nine Partners, Dutchess Co., NY from Foley's "Early NY Settlers," p. 302.

(at Hartford) Will of J.4. at Guilford History of Durham, Connecticut John Parrish was probably born in Mendon, Mass. just prior to King Philip's War. He accompanied the family to Conn. and in 1717 purchased land in Branford where he resided the rest of his life. His will is dated 5 Apr 1748 and proved 14 Apr 1748.
He married Hannah Jewell 30 Jun 1664 at Braintree, Norfolk, Mass. . Hannah Jewell was born at Braintree, Norfolk, Mass. 12 Dec 1643 daughter of Thomas Jewell and Mary Grissell (Grizel) Fletcher .
