                      BIRTH.:  In the Stirling "Red book" there is a family of James Bell, no
             wife's name with three boys, a Robert Born 1779, a James and
             David.  In the IGI there is a Robert Born 3 May 1778 at Kirriemuir,
             Angus, Scot.

   INFO.:   Their Daughter Elizabeth when her 8th child Grace was born in
             1855 when Civil Registion was begun in Scotland, it said she
             was born at Yarmouth, I have searched for years to find why he was
             in England.  I can finally document why as of 4 May 1999.  From
             Film #1545227 Bishop Transcripts of Yarmouth, Norfolk, England
             found Eliz. Daugh. of Robert Bell and wife Mary, also that he was
             an Artilleryman.

   OCCUP.:  Film #0916,235 Royal Reg. of Artillery, found  Certificate  of
             his discharge papers, he had inlisted at perth, Perthshire, Scot.
             at the age of 23 on 11 Apr 1801.  He was listed as 2nd Gunner.

   DOC.:    Discharge papers listed 2nd Gunner Robt. Bell born in parish
             of Kirymuir in or near the town of Kirymuir in Co. of Forfarshire
             was enlisted for the aforesaid Reg. at Perth in Co. of Perth on the
             11 day of Apr 1801 at the age of 23.

             Thst he served for seventeen years and 305 days.  The sum of -----
             on account of ranking------of -------himself, wife and three
             children from north Yarmouth to Perth.
