    Stephen Hitchcock Wilkes left South Carolina about 1818.  Prob. married
    in Alabama to a girl from Georgia.  First 3 children born in Alabama in
    1822, 1823, 1826.  Moved to Marion Co., Miss., in 1827 (area later known
    as Carley P.O.)  1842 - moved to Covington Co., Miss., and established
    Wilkesburg, 5 mi. so. of Bassfield in Jefferson Davis County, MS.

    I need to find out which county Bassfield is in:  Jeff Davis, Marion, or
    Covington?
