FAMILY: The NEHGR references for the Wright family (1850: Vol 4, Pgs. 355-358 and 1886: Vol 40, Pg. 280-282) do not place Hannah in this family. However, the History of the Stebbins family, in that publication (1851: Vol 5, Pg. 352) indicates that Hannah Wright was a daughter of Deacon Samuel Wright. There was only one Deacon Samuel Wright living in Norhampton in the early 1600's. The NEHGR referenced a father or brother that might have come to the colonies with Samuel. His name was Nathaniel. A check of Ancestsry.com's World Tree indicated 1 instance where this Hannah was shown as the daughter of a Nathaniel, and that was not at all documented. On the other hand, there were nearly 200 instances of Hannah Wright shown as a daughter of Samuel Wright and married to Thomas Stebbins. Inasmuch as this is not an ancestral line, we have concluded that we will place Hannah in the Samuel Wright family until further evidence of her parentage is found.........Bla 02/02/02
OTHER: A search of the NEHGR did not disclose who this Thomas is. The only Thomas of th right age was the son of Thomas and Hannah Wright and who married another woman. Further review found (History of Deerfield) that this Thomas Stebbin's first wife, Abigail Mun died in 1692 and he then married a Mrs. Samuel Ely who then became the Mary that maried the John Coleman on Pg. 24 of the Genealogy of Hadley Families reference. MARRIAGE: The NEHGR referenced states that Benjamin married Mrs. Martha Ball. This seems to be in error. The History of Sunderland, pg. 350 states that Mary (Graaves) married Samuel Ball 1st and Banjamin Stebbins 2nd. The History of Deerfield, Pg. 317, gives the same information. In addition, it adds that Mary then married James Warriner 3rd, indicating that she outlived Benjamin and he could not have remarried. A review of the nearly 1,000 entries in Ancestry.com's World Tree indicated on 6 entries where Benjamin Stebbins was married to a Martha. In all 6 cases the information for Martha was largely the same information recorded for Mary, indicating to me this "Martha" is really Mary Graves............Bla 02/02/02
BIRTH: The birth dates of Hannah and Rowland are unusual. But I have checked the reference and the dates I have written down are correct, according to that reference. Perhaps they were born during the night and one born before midnight and the other after midnight. That is the only explanation I can find.........Bla 02/02/02

He married Hannah Wright Nov 1645 at Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts . Hannah Wright was born at of Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts Abt 1624 daughter of Samuel Wright, (Deacon) and Mrs. Margaret Wright .
