There is a question as to are the parents of Alice Hatch. The ordinace work performed is substantiated by the christening information in Tenterden, Kent, England and the parents are shown as Thomas and Anne Lydia in the Ordinance Index file. Yet there is no mention of her in the various genealogical reviews of this family. She is also sealed to William Hatch, the brother of Thomas. More work will need to be performed to determine the parents of Alice Hatch...........Bla 02/02/02 Further, the "History of Scituate, Ma from its settlement to 1851", Pg. 324, states that she is the daughter of William Hatch. Lastly, the reference book, "History of Scituate, Massachusetts from its first settlement to 1831" designates on Pg. 324 that Jonas Pickles marries Alice Hatch, the daughter of William Hatch. However, the same book on Pg. 279 gives a brief biography on William Hatch. His will, dated while Alice (Hatch) Pickles was still living, does not mention her. Neither does the book, ...................Lastly, the NEHGR reference cited lists the children of both the brothers, Thomas and William Hatch. Alice is shown as a daughter of Thomas. We have chosen Thomas as th more likely father.........Bla 09/04/02
