                   BIRTH: LTR 382-3- Page from "Families of the Mohawk Valley, NY"

              LTR 326-2- 1860 Census of Humboldt County, CA has Peter, a woman, Lydia A. and 2 young girls, both named Mary.  Lydia is 9 years older than Peter and so probably isn't his wife.  It is unclear what the relationships are.  For now, I have listed this "group" as a family, until further investigation can disclose the true relationships.

OTHER: LTR 326-3- 1870 Census of Humboldt county, CA (Pg. 293) gives what appears to be a second family for Peter William Reas.  This is undoubtedly the right Peter William as his father, James Reas, is living with him at this time.  However his age is four years too young, perhaps on purpose because the woman who is living there, and is probably his wife, is 14 years younger than he.  There is also a 13 year old retarded girl there of unknown parentage.

                  LTR 326-4- 1880 Census- In this census, Peter William Reas' age is reported properly.  His wife is now shown as 3 years older than in the 1870 census however.  The father, James Reas, is still living with the family and in 82 years old. The retarded girl is no longer living in the home.

                   BIRTH: LTR 326-2- 1860 Census of Humboldt County, CA has Peter, his wife Lydia A. and 2 children.   Lydia is 9 years older than Peter William in this census report.

DEATH: LTR 281- From cemetery headstone in the Fernadale, CA cemetery, copied  by B. Larry Allen

LTR 823- Newspaper clipping, Humboldt Times (weekly), Eureka, CA,  21 Sep 186;  gives former location as Zanesville, Athens, Ohio and middle name as Ann.  Also, age at date of death agrees with that of the 1860 census.

BURIAL: LTR 902-  A review of the Ferndale Cemetery records did not disclose a headstone for Mrs. P. W. Reas..  It was noted that she was re-buried in the Ferndale Cemetery from a home cemetery.... Bla 09/29/02

OTHER: Upon closer review,  Mrs. Lydia Ann Reas may or may not be the wife of Peter William Reas.  The spelling of her hame does distinguish her from the other Reese family that lived in the area however.  And we can find no connection with the DeWitt Clinton (Peter William's brother) family......Bla 09/29/02
