Note from "Captain Samuel Church of Churchville"- ..What induced him to imigrate, is of course uncertain.  Evidently he came over with his relatives John Marsh,Nathaniel Marsh, and Isaac Graves, who all came from Braintree, Essex, (England) toHartford.

                   Genealogy of Hadley Families" lists only one Samuel Church.  "Captain Samuel Church of Churchville" lists two.  The first Samuel, b. 3 Mar 1632 died young according to the second reference above.  The first reference cites that the Samuel Church they reference became a freeman in 1657.  As becomeing a freeman would mean coming of maturity (age 21) then this Samuel would have been born in 1636, thebirth year cited in the second reference.  Accordingly, we have added a secondSamuel to this family.
