BIRTH: LTR 119- 1856 Census of Jones County, Iowa.  However, the dates used for Ordinance work varies from this census report.  Per the 1856 census, he would have been born in 1842, not 1845 as shown.  We have elected to keep the 1845 date because that is the date used for ordinance work and in Edith Duncan Smuin's journal...........Bla 01/25/02
