William CURTISS, (CAPTAIN)

                   The book "Genealogies of the Town of Stratford, Conn"  lists William Curtiss  as the father of Sarah on  9g. 1178 with the following information.  "He came to Stratford with his widowed mother Elizabeth, and his brother John, and was one of the first settlers of the place in 1639.  His will was dated Dec 15, 1702; he died Dec. 21, 1702, and his will was proved Dec. 31, 1702.  His first wife, whose name is not known, died,and he m. 2nd, about 1680, Sarah, widow of Ensign Wm. Goodrich of Wethersfield,and dau. of Matthew Morris, of Hartford.  She died about the same time he did. His mother's will was proved April 4th, 1665."
I point this out because there are  ordinances performed for Sarah as if she were the daughter of John Curtis, perhaps her grandfather..............Bla 12/23/01  This issue was resolved, her father being correctly identified at NEGHR 1992: Vol 146, Pg. 34.
