There was an article in the Idaho Enterprise, a Malad, Idaho weekly paper, on the death of Thomas, entitled," Drove Oxen Across Plains Days of '64 --Thomas Bolingbroke A True Pioneer; Died Aged 73":

"The death of Thomas Bolingbroke, which occurred at 7:30 pm, July 8th, 1921, was the result of dropsy. He was the son of Thomas John and Mary Ann Mitchell Bolingbroke. He was born April 17th, 1848 at Ashstead, Surrey, England. He came with his father and family to this country in the year 1851 and settled in Savannah, Andrew county, Missouri. His parents resided there until the year 1864, when they left their home in May and crossed the dreary plains with ox team, Thomas himself driving a team all the way.

His family arrived in Salt Lake City in September of 1864 and went on to Logan in October of that year.

In the summer of 1866 he drove a team back to Laramie to meet the emigrants who were on their way to Utah and was a member of Captain Rick's company. There are a few people living in Malad who were members of that company.

His father and family, in the spring of 1868, moved to Malad Valley, where they and other pioneers labored and toiled to make homes, as was the lot of all in the early settling of this valley.

Here Thomas met Margaret Burnett and on the 4th of October 1870 married her at Malad, Richard Evans, a justice of the peace presiding.

Later he and Mrs. Bolingbroke moved to Marsh Valley and settled on a ranch, living in happiness for a number of years. He later sold his farm and they moved into northern Idaho, where he and his wife separated in 1886.

Mr Bolingbroke afterward moved to Montana, where he resided until old age and infirmities made it impossible for him longer to care for himself, when he returned to Malad, in December 1914.

He did not have a family. His parents, two brothers and one sister have gone before him to the great beyond. He leaves one brother, Charles E. Bolingbroke, and a number of nephews and nieces to mourn his loss.

Funeral services for Thomas Bolingbroke were held from the home of David Bolingbroke (nephew) Sunday at two o'clock, Bishop John J. Evans presiding.
Opening prayer was offered by E. E. Richards. Songs were rendered by Bertha Jones and A. J. Nelson. The speaker was Daniel R. Evans. Closing prayer was offered by Bishop W. H. Thomas. Internment at the City cemetary."

Henry was given a missionary blessing at Salt Lake City, Ut 8 Oct 1900 by Apostle John W. Taylor as follows:

"Brother Henry Bolingbroke, we the servants of the Lord, lay our hands upon your head and we set you apart to perform a mission in Great Britain, under the direction of the Presidency therof.

We say unto thee that inasmuch as you will devote yourself unto the Lord and serve him faithfully in this calling, that your sins shall be forgiven you and thou shalt be blessed from this hour forth with renewed portion of the Spirit of the Lord and it will guide you into the ways of all truth, and thou shalt lift up thy voice and thou shalt never be confounded while delivering the message of life and salvation unto the people, who dwell in that great nation. And we say unto thee that thou shalt be blessed in thy ministry, if thou art devoted to thy calling and will labor diligently and search for the honest in heart and lift up your voice, and we say unto you, fear not the world, but be bold in proclaiming the principles of life and salvation unto those that sit in darkness, and in as much as you will do this, you shall have a reward for your labors and the Lord will bless thee, and His spirit will be your constant companion. Your life and health will be precious in the sight of the Lord, and all things that are for your good shall rest upon you in that mission, even unto the acceptableness of our Father who is in Heaven. And in due time thou shalt have the pleasure of returning home to the land of Zion in peace and in safety. We say unto thee therefore, go forth and be of good cheer and be faithful unto the end and thou shalt have everlasting life, for we seal these blessings upon your head in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

This article was placed in the "Idaho Enterprise" at Henry Mitchell Bolingbroke's death in May 1905:

"In the death of Harry (Henry) Bolingbroke, Malad has lost a good citizen, although it can be said that death came as a relief to the suffering. Soon after returning from a mission about two years ago, he was stricken with some malady which seemed to affect the spine and limbs. Physicians were consulted but could give no aid or even hope for his recovery and he grew feeble, almot helpless, practically losing his sight and his condition becoming most pitiable. The end has come and if having lived an honorable and straightforward life and endured such suffering with great forbearance, entitles one to the highest glory after leaving this world, Henry Bolingbroke will surely receive it.
He will leave a wife and several children, adults, a respected family, all of whom devoted themselves as best they could to his care and comfort during the period of his affliction.
The funeral took place Wednesday."
