William Henry SCHOMBURG

                   Susan Schomburg Mikesell, age 77, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, and Toledo, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 29, 2003, in St. Petersburg, Florida, after a lengthy illness. She was born and raised in Toledo to her parents, William and Margaret Schomburg. Susan graduated from Scott High School and University of Michigan, where she was president of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She then married Frederick Rosenberger Mikesell. Susan was active in the Women's Auxiliary of the First Congregational in Saginaw, Michigan, the Junior League and the Lady's Garden Club. She was also an active volunteer for the Saginaw General Hospital gift shop. Susan was a very loyal, kind person and had faith in God. Her children fondly remember her participation as a room mother and Sunday school teacher, as well as numerous other activities.Susan's husband of 50 years, Frederick; parents; as well as her brothers, William and Robert Schomburg, preceded her in death. She will be missed by her four daughters and their families, Margaret Nagy of St. Petersburg, Florida, Nancy Franz of Golden, Colorado, Christine Arceneaux of Largo, Florida, and Sarah Mikesell of Saginaw, Michigan. Her grandchildren, Kyle and Chelsea Nagy, Allison and Natelee Franz, Miles and Chance Arceneaux, also survive her.A Memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Saginaw, Michigan, on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at 11 a.m. On Wednesday, January 7, there will be visitation at the Bennett-Emmert-Szakovits Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (at Alexis) Toledo, Ohio 419-535-7726 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with graveside service to follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to The American Lung Association or to the World Wild Life Fund.
