Opal Frances (Moser) MosherDecember 09, 1909 - August 25, 2007COLUSA, CALIFORNIA - Opal Frances Mosher, 97, of Colusa, California, died August 25, 2007 at the Valley West Care Center in Williams, California.She was born to Louis and Mary Moser in Wall, Missouri on December 9, 1909. She was a Colusa resident for 39 years.Together with her husband, Earl Mosher, she owned and operated Evergreen Bowling Lanes and Cafe, as well as Mosher Pontiac Dealership in Cle Elum, Washington. Later, they moved to Colusa, California, where they owned and operated Riverside Bowling Lanes for 39 years.She was a member of the Nor-Cal Bowling Proprietors Association Youth Committee. She was instrumental in teaching many, many young children from the Colusa area to bowl. Everybody knew Opal.She loved to garden, bake, do crossword puzzles, and family gatherings. She bowled well into her 80s.Survivors include her daughter, Doris Riley of Colusa, Calif.; her daughter-in-law, Cece Mosher of Salem; grandsons, Brad and Kurt Mosher and their families of Salem; three other grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Earl in 1983; her son, Clyde Jay in 2000; two brothers, Orrin and William Moser; and four sisters, Berniece Whitman, Margaret Brosamale, Mary Mueller, and Mabel Nupp.Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Colusa Regional Medical Center, 199 E. Webster St., Colusa CA 95932.Graveside service was Thursday, August 30th at Sierra View Memorial Park, Olivehurst, Calif. McNary-Moore Funeral Chapel, Colusa, Calif. was in charge of arrangements.
