William (Blanton) BLANDING
Lived in Rehoboth MA. He gave a sum of monedy to the town of Rehoboth 1675-76 to help carry out the Narraganseth Expedition against the Indians. The town council record of 16 May 1680 reads "It is agreed upon that said William Blanding should haved one half acre of land upon the common to build a house upon the edge of Rock Hill. Lieut. Hunt, Sam Carpenter and J. Peck were chosen to lay out the said land and set the expense of it and also to prefix a time when he shall build, which if he neglect he shall forfeit the land to the town again."
