William BLANTINE

                   The name was spelled variously in early records as Blanton, Blantern, Blantine, Blandin, Blanded & Blandon.  William emigrated from Upton Upon Severn, Worcestershire, England in 1639.  He came on the ship Fellowship which sailed from Wherwell England in 1638.  He had been driven from England by the Catholics and deprived of his citizenship.  He was a carpenter.  He appeared before the Grand Inquest of the Colony and his citizenship was restored and he was made a freman 10 May 1643.  He was taxed in 1644.  He was a member of the GrandInquest of the Colony 1643 to 1648 and deputy to Plymounth Court 1646-1651.  He owned land at Muddy River (Now Brookline in the city of Boston) and had shares in the Taunton Iron Works.  The general court granted him permission to keep a "cook's shop towards Roxbury" in 1647.  He married Phebe (maiden name unknown) and had three children.  He was born 1611 in England and died 15 June 1662 in Boston.
