1. This is possibly the John Rogers who sailed from London to Barbados in April of 1635 at the age of 34.
2. There is no proof that John Rogers' father was named Thomas. His oldest son is, however, named John and he was born in England in about 1632.
3. John Rogers was one of the inhabitants of Scituate listed as able to bear arms in 1643. He took the Oath of Fidelity in Scituate 15 Jan 1645. He presumably came from England with his wife, Frances, and several children, but nothing certain is known of his origin or his life before his appearance in Scituate. He moved to Marshfield in 1647. He probably had Quaker sympathies.
