Charles Washington GARNETT
Received this information from several sources. I am Sylvia Lee Garnett Phillips the great-grand-daughter of Charles Washington Garnett and only have information that I received from a copy of a family bible for the Garnett family and information from Laura Sue Garnett Cashon who has a Webb site that has all of the descendants of James Garnett. It lists all of the children of james garentt and Charles Washington is on that list with all of his children and wives. When I was looking at the entries in the family bible copies, first I thought that it was only 1 marriage and as I was going thru the names I realized that he had married 2 times and had many children so he and his two wives has done their share of populating this earth. His and his first wife Nancy Shelton married in Trigg County in 1843 and she died 1 month after the birth of their last child Nancy. I imagine that he hired a lady to come in and help with things which was my Greatgrandmother Nancy Cargil. They did not marry for over 2 years so I'm guessing that he went on with his life as best he could, then married Nancy Cargill and they had 9 children in ten years. He died 6 months after the birth of their last child Cora C. Garnett. Times must have been very hard. Someone else must be members of theChurch of jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for Charles Washington's work has been done, at least some of it.
Granny Nannie Cargill was my great grandmother
Grandpa died on Easter Sunday while home from the hospital having dinner. He got up from the dinner table and said that he felt like laying down and fell to the floor and died. My Grandpa Garnett was a very calm and sweet, gentle man and wasloved by all who knew him. He was a farmer and studied the bible all of his life. He was a methodist and loved all of the gospel. He was the loving father to 13 children, the first being my father. I did not know him well, but do remember that he was kind and gentle. I have been busy for this wonderful grandfather of mine, for I have gone to the Temple of the Lord and had his work done for him. 7/24/2005 I feel that he has accepted this gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and that he and my grandmother Fannie Halliman Garnett are together as I write these things.
