His parents were Henry Faust, born April 18, 1685 died Feb 8, 1732 Grunbach, Gy. and Elizabeth K---e(a)r, born May 25, 1682 Manbach(b)el, Gy., married July 20, 1711. Grunbach, Germany. Later notes: another b. date 26 Feb. 1714. Will dtd 30 Jul 1760, Lancaster Co., Pa, Wills Book B, Vol. 1 p. 404. Will proved 30 Aug 1762. Son Balthasar was sealed to him and his wife then known as "Catherine FAUST" who really is Catharina WILKES (WILKS). Also ss SLAKE 24 Feb 1994.
Not proven to be son of Henry and Eva - married Margaret Bombauer in 1750, recorded in Faulkner Swamp records.

Married Appolonia YOST. They lived in Montgomery Co., Pa. In 1784 Montgomery was carved from Philadelphia County, and the Fausts fell in Montgomery Co., Pa. All of the sons of Henry Faust settled first in Montgomery Co. when then came to America. Peter and Appolonia were parents of 6 children. Peter came to America on 20 Oct 1744 on the Ship Phoenix. Peter's farm was near Obelisk in Montgomery Co. He is buried in a cemetery located on the old homestead; the cemetery is still sometimes call the Faust Cemetery, near Obelisk in Montgomery Co., Pa.
Md. Catherine Mathes in Montgomery Co., Pa. He came to America and landed in Montgomery Co., Pa. In 1776 in moved to Brothers Valley, then in Bedford Co., that part of which later became Somerset Co. His will is in the Somerset Co. courthouse. In 1779 he paid taxes on 150 acres. On Jan 29, 1792 he received a warrant for another 50 acres. The warrant is listed in Bedford Co. since that part was not yet split off as Somerset Co. Previous temple submission, b. 1716. Probably wrong. As to children #1-#7, Philadelphia Co. would appear to be correct as to birth place. Note: Berks Co. was created Oct 14, 1751 from parts of Philadelphia, Chester, and Lancaster Cos; it was orgainzed in 1752. From it came parts of Northunberland in 1772 and part of Schuylkill Co. in 1811. Lancaster Co. created in 1728 from part of Chester Co. From it came york in 1748, Cambria in 1750, part of Berks in 1751, part of Northumberland in 1772, Dauphin in 1795, part of Lebanon in 1813. Somerset Co. created Apr 17, 1795 from part of Bedford Co. In 1804, Cambria was formed from it. Bedford, created 3-9-1711 from part of Cumberland. Philadelphia Co originally created in 1682. From i8t came Berks in 1751 and Montgomery in 1784. Brothersvalley Twp., hence, originated in Phila. Co. and finally wound up in Somerset. Birth 1716, card, and sp 2 Aug 1994.
