OBITUARY:
Elveston B. "E. B." Cox, 79, of Vinton, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2004. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Elveston Cox and mother, Annie Wysong Cox, two loving aunts, Janie Stafford and Bertie Johnson, one uncle, Crowe Stafford. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Dula Cox; one son, Craig Ballard Cox, Fincastle; sister, Martha Tucker, Lancaster, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. E. B. graduated from VPI and retired from Grumman Emergency Products. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, a P.O.W. of the German Government for 11 months and a recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received in action
