Nancy Jane Allen grew up in MO and married her first husband Mr. Richardson. Three children were born to this union, Samuel, Lura, and another little girl that preceded her in death. When Samuel and Lura were young, Nancy Jane married Newton A. Pounds and lived in Texas before moving to the Oklahoma Territory and eventually NM. Upon the death of her only surviving daughter (Cora Lura Jane Richardson Shaw)in 1922, Nancy Jane helped take care of her daughters family. For a time she lived in a dugout close to B.B. Shaw and eventually moved to Roy, NM, living there until her death.
