Historical information in notes BIOGRAPHY: Graduated Tubingen University in 1546. Served as underbaliff at Urach, Germany. In the Amandus church in Urach is a plaque commemorating his service as underbaliff to the town of Urach. Served as Town Clerk at Bietigheim from 1552 to 1555. Served as renovator of the tax rolls in 1556, 1557, and 1559. He then served as under-bailiff at Urach. He was a member of many delegations sent out to implement orders of the Duke of Wurttemberg.In the Amandus Church in Urach, Wurttemberg, Germany, which dates from 1200, there are about ten epitaphs, one being a large one for Simplicius the Elder. The writing on it is in Old German and in Latin, and it has on it the images of Simplicius, his wife, and their surviving seven children.
