He did find the record of a James Day born in 1753 in North
Mimms,
Hertforshire. (35 Miles from North Ockendon) This James also
had a
elder brother named William.
MARRIAGE: Parish copy of Marriage of James Day and Susannah Webb of

Knotly, Essex. Date agrees with our previous family record.
DEATH: Parish Record stated James to have been 67 Yrs at time of
death,
therefore his birth was in 1753, not as previously recorded
as 1766. Occupation: Agricultural Labourer.
Probably lived for a short time at Ramsden Cray a few miles fron
North Ockenden Changed name to James as per information recieved
from Maurice Day and David
Gilroy . Maurice Day has verified this name in several
records.
Note: The last Day living in North Okendon, Essex Gladys Day, a
decendent of
Edward Day died in 1990 or 1991. The day family line is
extinct in
North Okendon. Maurice Day met a woman who is writing a
history of the
North Okendon Parish from pre conquest times before William the
Conquerer to the present time. The Day's have lived in North
Okendon for
over 200 Years.
