Former Resident Dies in Madison Hospital
Funeral services for Gus Torgeson, 81, a former resident of this city, were held at the Treweek funeral Home at 1:30 pm on Saturday, with burial at Graceland cemetery.
Gus, who worked at the Park Hotel, Madison, for the past several years as maintenance man and elevataor operator, retired about a year ago. He passed away at the Madison Hospital.
While in Mineral Point, he worked as an auto mechanic. About 35 years ago he built the large garage now owned by J.E. Engels. He was actively interested in all of the Masonic bodies of this city.
His wife preceded him in death several years ago. He is survived by a sister Mrs Earl Collingswood of Dodgeville.

Mrs Gus Torgeson, A.T. Richards are buried same afternoon.
Funeral services were held here Friday for two Mineral Point residents both of
whom died last Wednesday. They were Mrs Gus Torgeson and A. T. Richards
Mrs Torgeson died in a Madison Hospital after having been taken there
scarcely a week before suffering from pneumonia. She was 65 years old and a
respected life-long resident. She is survived by her husband.
Funeral services wwere held from the Congregational church at 2:30 with the
Rev. Earl E. Remaley officiating. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.
Pallbearers included Henry Halverson, Walter Harris, Charles Treweek, Howard
Wiesen, Will Dresden and Anthony Fecht.
