BIRTH:1880 fed cens Mineral Pt.,Iowa, Wisc ed 155 p. 30; MARR: DEATH:Copy of obit; BURIAL:Copy of obit Democrat - May 7, 1914; Obit: Edward Richards Killed by Train With the advent of May, 1914, came the exit of the life of Edward Richards who claimed Mineral Point as home. Within the last year deceased had spent some time in Beloit, but during the past week or so he visited with relatives in this city. Friday he left on his return to Beloiit, it is understood. He had proceeded as far as South Wayne where he got off the train because his ticket didn't provide for his going further. From that station he started to walk eastward in the latter part of the afternoon and chanced to meet a west bound freight a short distance out. The tooting of the whistle, etc. failed to induce him to get off the track, although he was on his feet and had ample opportunity to do so. As a consequence he was killed, his head being battered and one leg broken. The remains were brought to this city and buried from the home of his sister, Mrs Edwin Lanyon. Edward Richards was a son of Alfred Richards, deceased. He was about 38 years of age. His mother, one brother and one sister reside in this city, besides uncles and aunts. It looks like a case of premeditated desire to end life. He was married buy is said to have been discontented.
