Need to know where Rose got her death date for Freddie. Also the letter is missing the last number of the year on date of death of Ida Mae. Is there a relative who could visit the grave site to see if the year is legible on the headstone. If not it is more likely Ida was born in 1892. If she was born in 1893 there is only abt 7 months between her birth and the twins. May 22, 1863 and was mustered out and received an honorable discharge September 25, 1864. Shortley after the war he was married to Miss Marion Butler, of Fairbanks, Iowa, six children were born to them, three boys and three girls, all of whom are living, except the youngest, as follows; Silas, of Des Moines; Mrs Amelia Oliver of Des Moines; Wesley of Calvin, N.Dakota;Mrs Susan E Sluggeett, of Findley, N. Dakota; and Mrs Lona DeVaul of Varina. In 1879 he lost his wife, and on May 30, 1882 he was united in marriage to Miss Cynthia S. A military funeral was held at the Methodist Church Friday, July 11, the remains being laid to rest in the Havelock cemetery. There is a marr in Blackhawk County for a William Willey and a Marian A. Butler. There is a probate in Pocahontas County Iowa for the 1st son Silas (# 2795 Sep 11, 1943 Bk 9 p.234. Willey and a son John W. Willey also has a burial for a Wm. C. Butler b. ---- d. 15 Dec 1881 agd 29y 8m 12d. This would appear to be a brother of Marian C. who married Wm. Willey and helps prove the marriage of William to Marion Butler in Blackhawk Co.,Iowa. There is a Leo listed as a surviving child in one of William's obit and Leve as a survivor in another. I am unable to find a child named Leo in any of the census records and think this must be Leve.
