Letitia Palfrey Obituary
Letitia Kennedy was born in Pennygrig, South Wales in 1851 (?) and passed away
at her home in Shullsburg Twp., April 10, 1920 of a paralytic stroke, being 67
years of age. In 1872 she was married to John Palfrey. To this union seven
children were born. Four little girls died in early childhood of scarlet
fever, two of them dying on the same day; also John and Fred who preceded her
in death just two years ago, and James who alone remains to bear the burden of
her loss. Her husband Mr. Palfrey preceded her in death 22 years ago.

In 1900 she was married to Richard Glasson who is left to miss the care of a
dutiful wife and helpmate. She also has seven grandchildren.

She was not a trained nurse but an experienced nurse. All her life was one
long devotion to her neighbors or anyone who needed her assistance in sickness
or sorrow. She was always ready day or night to give not only her care but
also her comfort. She will be sadley missed by her numerous friends. She won
her reward and is sweetly sleeping in Jesus in whom she put her trust. She was
laid to rest in the Leadmine Cemetery of the Primitive Methodist Church on
April 12. Rev. Blenkinsop officiating, carried by the following life long
friends, Patrick Mc Carthy, Sam DeRocher, Jos. Bell, Thos. Cherry, John and
Henry Mullen and followed by almost the entire community, so great was their
love for her.

Her aged husband and only son have the heartfelt sympathy of all the
commununity. Her husband will make his home with her son and family where she
will be so missed. A friend
