Ruth L. Richards, 90, Mineral Point, died peacefully Saturday, November 7, 1998 at the Mineral Point Care Center.  She was born April 11, 1908 in Mineral Point, the daughter of Pierce and Mary Jane (Jeffrey) Quirk.  She attended Mineral Point schools,  on September 30, 1924 she married Walter Richards.  They lived in Mineral Point until 1942 when they moved to Milwaukee where Ruth worked many years at the American Linen Company.  They retired and moved back to Mineral Point in 1973.  She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Mineral Point and the church guild.
      Survivors include one daughter, Marlene (Lee) Martin, West Bend; ane son-in-law, William Powell, Dodgeville; four grandchildren, Beverly (Bill) Zimmerman, Barbara (Garry) Phillips, Kim (Brent) Evanenko and Sandra Martin; eight Great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas (Eileen) Quirk; one sister in-law,Romell Quirk; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1983; one daughter, Betty Powell in 1989; four brothers, Pierce, Jr; Morris "Shorty" , Robert and Jeffery "Jiggs"; and one sister in infancy.
      A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 11 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Mineral Point.  Interment was in Graceland cemetery,Mineral Point.  Friends called from 3-5 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 10 at the Gorgen Funeral Home.Mineral Point and from 10a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.  Memorials to Trinity Episcopal church are appreciated.
