Leroy Everett Gleason, 63 of Hot Springs, Ark, died Tuesday night after a long
illness.  He was a former resident of Kirksville but had lived in Hot Springs
the past three years.
      Mr. Gleason was the son of Hart andd Rosie (Crowder) Gleason and was born
April 22, 1900 in Adair County.  He married Florence Farris on Aug. 13, 1919 in
Waterloo, Ia. and to this marriage three children were born.  She preceded him
in death in 1949. Also prededing him in death were his father and two brothers.
      Mr. Gleason is survived by his mother, two boys, Orville Gleason and Merle
Gleason both of LeClair, Ia; one daughter, Miss Evelyn Gleason of 1316 S.
Porter: one brother, Ray Gleason of 1102 W. George; three sisters, Miss Edith
Gleason of 1402 S. Porter, Mrs Willard (Hazel) Amon of rural Kirksville, and
Mrs Fred (Delpha) Briggenherst of 1316 S. Porter and 4 grandchildren.
      The body will arrive at the Dee Riley Funeral Home late Thursday night with
funeral arrangements to be announced later.

Mrs Florence Ethel Gleason, 51, died Thursday afternoon at her home at 1609 S.
Baird.
      The body will be at the Dee Riley Funeral Home until funeral arrangements
are made following the arrival of relatives.
      Mrs. Gleason was the daughter of James A. Farris and Nellie E. (Campbell)
Farris and was born at Brazil, Ia., June 10, 1898.  She was married to Leroy
Everett Gleason at Waterloo, Ia., Aug. 13, 1919.  They had three children.
      She is survived by her husband , two sons, Everett Orville and Lowell
Merle and one daughter, Ethel Evelyn, all of Kirksville;  three brothers,
Walter, of Unionville, Forrest, of East St. Louis, and Floyd, of Exline, Ia;
one granddaughter, Carol Ann Gleason.
      Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.
      Mrs Gleason was a member of the Methodist Church.

In the 14 Aug. 1949 Kirksville Daily Express, an article on Florence showed the
pallbears as: Earl Gleason, Dennis Gleason, Morris Farris, Cedric Farris,
William Farris and James Farris.
