Obit of William Harrison Adams said he has 1 half sister Mrs Charley Kelton of
Redwood City, Ca and one half brother, Morris, of Fresno,Ca.

Searched Missouri North 1870 federal census.  There was one Nelson Adams born
in Missouri.

Military:  Civil war, Co C, 9th regiment Iowa Inf. enlisted 9 Mar 1864 mustered
out 18 Jun 1865 at Louisville,Ky.  Affidavit dated 12 May 1886 from Adjutant
General's Office stated no records of wounds or injury.  His physical
description at the time was: eyes, blue;  Hair, light; complexion, fair;
height, 5'4";

Pension:  Horace stated Melissa applied for divorce around 1875 at
Brownsville,Mo. and remarried.  He did not list May Lyons as one of his and
Lucinda Herr's children, so assume Lucinda had her before they were married.
When Lucinda applied for pension after Horaces's death, she stated Horace left
her 15 Jan. 1911.

Residence:  Hot Springs, S.D. in Oct 1912.

Gave father's name as Amos Herr b. Pa.and his age as 80 so he must have been
alive in 1925.
Gave mother's name as Ruby Cromer b. Ill no age so she probably is
deceased.  Said parents were married in Missouri.

Family records of Harold Chase give the birth place of Lucinda as near Chicago
or in Iroquis County,Ill.

In an application for a pension Lucinda(Cindy) stated that her husband had left
her on or about the 15th of January 1911. Statement dated 3 Mar 1928.

No mention of Commodore in the obit of William Harrison as either surviving or
preceeding him in death.  Said he was preceeded in death by his parents.

1900 federal census said Commodore Dewey was one year old and born Jun 1899.
1920 Federal Census Hazelton,Buchanan,Ia enumerated with father in law of his
sister's husband Martin Miller.

The headstone said 1898. Used the headstone date.  Need to check and
see if there is a typing error in the cemetary book and is should be 1899.  Ask
Harold.
