The first generation of Brigham in America. Transported to Cambridge, Massachusetts from England aboard the "Susan and Ellen" in 1635, their certificates of entry read..."The p'ties have brought certificates from y Ministers and Justices of the peace y they are no subsidy men; and are conformable to y orders and discipline of the Church of England."
In 1637 Thomas married Mercy Hurd in Cambridge. They "lived in the West end one house with three acres of Land and a half the highway to Watertown North (now the corner of Brattle St and Ash St.) He was called "the Emigrant" and "The Puritan."
