ANDREW JR., settled in Lynn, moving to Yarmouth in 1637. Admitted as freeman before 1640. In 1642 he bought of Giles Hopkins the first house known to have been built by white men in town, also ten acres of land. He afterward purchased other lots until he owned 300 acres. He had rights in the common land for 500 acres more. He also had land in Barnstable. He was a shrewd calculator and good business man, and before his death his taxes amounted to 1/20th of the whole tax of the town. He died in 1684 aged 76 [= born 1608] and by his will, after providing for his wife, ANNIE, (who was a daughter of ANTHONY BESSE of Sandwich), (Annie was probably the 2nd wife. see notes for his children.) remembered his daughters and grandchildren, liberally, and giving to his oldest son, JONATHAN (who married ABIGAIL DEXTER) the little calves pasture so called, as a token of his right as oldest son. His sons JOHN and JONATHAN to divide the rest of the property peacefully between them. His estate was valued at ll80 lbs. In 1684 he was constable of Sandwich, and an inhabitant of that town. He was 36 when married and his wife 21 years of age. After the death of his father,m he removed to Yarmouth and resided in the west room of his father's house till 1695, the year after the death of his motherm, when he built his new house. . . . Jonathan Hallett after the decease of his father was the most wealthy man in Yarmouth, and is brother John ranked next to him. . . His will is dated 5 Dec 1716 and was proved 14 Feb 1716-1717. He names his five sons, Ebenezer, Thomas, Timothy, David and Jonathan, and his daughter Mehitabel Sturgis, Elizabeth Crowell, and Abigail Hallett. . . The men of the third generation were church members; but not of the noble, self-sacrificing race by whome the country was settled. Jonathan Hallett loved money better than he loved the church; he was industrious and gathered up richesd which his childred put to a better use than he did. He died 12 Jan 1716-1717, aged 69 years, and his wife died 2 Sept 1715, aged 52 years. Both are buried in the old burying ground in Yarmouth, where monuments are erected to their memories.

His dwelling-house, which has been owned by four successive generations of Ebenezer Hallett's yet remains. He married 14 August 1712, Rebecca Howes. She died March 23, 1724-1725. 2nd, his cousin Hannah Hallett, 27 June 1728. She died 20 April 1729. 3d, Mercy Gray 30 May 1737 who survived him. His will was dated 10 May 1760.

Dexter, Worcester, MA 1905 «/b»Pg. 15 Thomas Hallett, b. 1691; d. 1772; married four times; no children «b»Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families - Pg. 511 «/b»Thomas Hallett, styled gentleman, son of Jonathan, born in Yarmouth in 1691 owned and resided in the large, ancient mansion-house now standing on the corner of Hallett Street, and Wharf Lane. Thomas was a short, thick-set man. During the later part of his life he was of feeble health. For many years he was afflicted with a sore leg. . . Thomas Hallett, lived in better style than many of his neighbors and died 10 April 1772 aged 81 leaving a good estate. He married 9 April 1719, for his first wife, Sarah, daughter of Deacon Joseph Hawes. She was born 1 April 1696, and died soon after her marriage, leaving no issue. He married 8 Feb 1721-1722, Hannah, widow of Andrew Gray of Harwich, and North Yarmouth, Maine. She died 6 Feb 11749-1750 and he married for his third wife, 19 August 1750 Desire Gorham. She died Dec 1767, aged 57. For his fourth wife he married Mary, widow of Thomas Hedge, and a daughter of James Gorham. His will was dated 21 Feb 1770.

Dexter, Worcester, MA 1905 «/b»Pg. 15 Deacon Jonathan Hallett b. 1693; d. 1783; m. 1719, Desire Howes; eleven children Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families - Pg. 511 - Deacon Jonathan Hallett, owned and occupied the house which was his father's residence. Notwithstanding he licved in a house so meanly furnished, he had the means of licving better. Deacon Jonathan was a carpenter, but seldon had time to work on his own home. . . . He married 17 Feb 1719-1720, Desire Howes, with whom he lived in the marriage state 55 years, till 3 april 1775, when she died aged 78 years. He died 24 May 1783, aged 90 years and is buried in the ancient burying-ground in Yarmouth, where monuments are erected to his and his wife's memory. . . His will was dated 17 July 1779.
His grandson Benjamin made the following record in his family bible; "My grandfather Timothy Hallett died 7 July 1770, in the 66th year of his age." He was a farmer and had six children; was married three times. «b»Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families - Pg. 513 «/b»Timothy Hallett, son of Jonathan, owned and resided in the dwelling-house now occupied by Mr. Eldridge Lovell of Yarmouth. He was a farmer, and a very respectable man. He married, first, 18 Feb 1719-1720, Thankful Sturgis, who died at the birth of her first child - still born - 10 Jan 1721 and both were buried in the same grave. Second, to Elizabeth, daughter of Deacon Moses Hatch of Falmouth. She died 23 oct 1744, aged 44 years, and he married 23 May 1745, thankful Jones of Barnstable, his third wife. He died as recorded on his grave stones, 24 Jan 1771 in the 19th year of his age. His grandson Benjamin made the following record in his family bible; "My grandfather Timothy Hallett died 7 July 1770, in the 66th year of his age." "My grandmother Elizabeth Hallett died 23 October 1744, aged 44 years."
