«/b»Brother and Sister George Victor Jone's home at the corner of the 6th North and Main exemplifies their neatness and modesty. This has been their home since 1933 and it is here that they loved and cared for their eight children. They both saw the advent of the nineteenth century

Brother Jones, better known as Vic, was born in Nephi to William Jones and Elizabeth Tolley Jones. During the time of his early childhood, the William Jones family lived at Nortonville, (a place 4 miles north of Nephi). He attended school here until completion of the 6th grade. He was a student at BYU High School at Provo, UT during the years 1915 and 1916. His next great adventure came with his call to serve our country in WWI. He saw action in Francde and was a Mounted Military Police, Private 1st Class, in the Army of Occupation that moved into Germany. He served 3 years.

While dancing to the tune of a fiddle in the old North Ward Amusement Hall, he discovered a petite and pretty girl by the name of Alberta Blackett. Her father escorted her to the dance, but Vic escorted her home. 24 Mar 1920 was the date of their solemn and everlasting marriage vows in the Salt Lake Temple. They sent their first summer at the Jones farm house at Nortonville. They then decided Vic should further his education so September found them in Salt Lake City. He attended University of Utah for two years. At the same time, he worked for New York Life Insurance Company selling insurance. Later at different times, he was employed by Interocean Elevator Co. as manager of grain storage, and Utah Fire and Clay.

Sadness came to them when their son, George eldon on 8 months old died of pneumonia. It was 1933, our country is suffering, not with war, but financial depression. Vic like most all....................
