«b»Rites Set Thursday For Nephi Man«/b»
Funeral services for Joseph H. Greenhalgh, 88, retired prominent Nephi farmer and stockman, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Nephi LDS First-Second Ward Chapel. Mr. Greenhalgh died Monday of causes incident to age.
Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N., Nephi, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel Thursday prior to the services. Mr. Greenhalgh was born Aug. 20, 1881, in Nephi, a son of William and Ellen Pass Greenhalgh. He married A. Pearl Belliston on Oct. 11, 1905, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died in 1967.
Mr. Greenhalgh had been a resident of Nephi all of his life, except for two years, when he resided in Logan. Active in the LDS Church, he had served as a teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood and Sunday School Organizations. He was also active in genealogical and missionary work and had served as a ward clerk.
Surviving are two daughters and seven sons, Mrs. Owen (Ellen) Gibson, Preston Ida.; Joseph R. Greenhalgh, Stellman A. Greenhalgh and R. Clark Greenhalgh, all of Nephi; Mrs. Udall (Jessie) Bailey, Riverton; William H. Greenhalgh, Springville; S. Ray Greenhalgh, Provo; Heber J. Greenhalgh, San Mateo, Calif.; and James M. Greenhalgh, Tacoma, Wash.; 32 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi.
