                      Admitted as FELLOW to Peterhouse College, Cambridge University, 1 Aug 1393. Ordianed Acolyte 25 May 1411; Subdeacon 28 mar 1412; Deacon 17 Dec 1412; pr 22 Apr 1413. Chaplain to Henry V and Henry VI. Became Senior Tutor (Headmaster) of Peterhouse College 1418. master 1421-1436. Chancellor of Cambridge University 1439-1440 (at the time of the famous Barnwell Process by which the University escaped form the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Ely.) He enjoyed a high reputation as a mathamatician and author of "Tabulae Astronomicae" ( the MS of which is in the College Library). He was a considerable  Benefactor of the College. For centuries each Fellow of Peterhouse on admission swore to maintain intact the Chest of John Holbroke and Thomas of Barnard Castle. Was principle in pleading at Trinity concerning a present to the Church in Holton, Suffolk (per Walter Kenneth Holbrook and J.C. Halbrooks, Sterling, CT.)
