BAPTISM: According what Albert John wrote in his history, his father was baptized on 27 of July 1861, not 27 of June 1861. But according to the temple records at the time of Adolph's endowment, Adolph put down that he was baptized on 27 June 1861. In a brief history that Adloph wrote for the Genealogical Survery of L.D.S. Members he states that he was baptized in 1859.

Adolph came to America in 1865 on the American packet ship B.S.Kimball with Captain Henry Dearborn. He was listed on the ship's record as Elggren, Anders Frederik, born about 1834, age 31, occupation husmand.
The record shows that it was on Monday May 8, 1865 that the packet ship B.S. Kimball sailed from Humburg, Germany, with 557 Saints, under the direction of Anders W. Winberg. The company landed in New York, June 15th. The record shows that a Samuelson, Johannes, was also on board. There was no birth year given for Johannes. We are assuming that this is Johanna because the family history states that Johanna came over on the same ship as Adolph.

In the Temple Ordinance File, Film 1233836, Baptisms and Endowments for the Dead and Proxies, the record shows that the work for Ida Josephine Elggren was done. Evidently the family was unaware that Adolph Elggren had her work done for her. The record states that Ida Josephine Elggren was baptized on 17 Aug 1978 with Denise R. Burnham as proxy. Mildred P Elggren was proxy for the endowment on 18 Aug 1978 . A. Lewis Elggren, 1636 East 9th South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84105 was the patron who submitted the record for the work to be done. The dates of 2 May 1905 for baptism and 26 Nov 1906 both in the Salt Lake Temple are the orginal dates that the work was done these dates are taken from the Temple records..
