HAVRE -- Albert Joseph Christian, 87, of Havre, a longtime Great Northern
and Burlington Northern Railroad worker, died of natural causes Thursday
at a Havre Hospital.
Viewing is 1 p.m. Monday at Holland and Bonine Funeral Home in Havre,
with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. His funeral service is
10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Judes Catholic Church, with burial in Highland
Cemetery, followed by a fellowship at the parish center.
Albert is survived by daughters Aline (Bill) Miller of Redmond, Ore., and
Clara (Robert) Litzinger of Havre; sons John (Julee) Christian and Frank
Christian, all of Havre; a sister, Eva Christian of Whitefish;
grandchildren Terry Miller of Redmond, Ore.,Scott Christian, Michael
(Cathee) Litzinger, Jody (Jason) Keeling, Jim (Melissa) Litzinger, Cory
Litzinger, Tony Christian, and John Christian, all of Havre, Michelle
(Kenny) Tanner and Heather (Aaron) Bricker, all of Great Falls;nine
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert was bornMarch 24, 1917, in Whitefish, Montana to John and
Josephine Christian. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad, which
later became Burlington Northern Railroad, for 40 years, retiring in
1977. Albert married Anna "Peggy" O'Connell on Oct. 31, 1945, in Great
Falls. The couple then moved to Havre in 1950. The couple had four
children. Albert dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren.
His life revolved around his family and enjoyed having them around him,
especially on birthdays and holidays. Albert also loved to fish and hunt.
He was a member of St. Jude's Church and the Knights of Columbus. After
retiring Albert and his wife did some traveling. She preceded him in
death in 1995.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers Tony, Louie and
Frank; and one sister, Rose.
