(father), but John (fa ther) is named as the Elder, which assumes a
younger. In addition, all heritable property ge nerally went to the
oldest son so that the eldest son usually did not show up in the testamen
t at all, as is the case here. Will dated 1621 is for his (younger's)
death; skipper-burges s in Kirkcaldy. It is assumed that references in
thesetwo wills are for the same John (youn ger).

Does not show up in the will of her father JohnLoudoun (and Janet Quytt)
of 1618. James Bir roll is listed as son in law and receives part of his
dowry. We know of the marriage to Isob ell through the sasine index of
Kircaldy. James Birroll and Isobell Loudoun as listed togeth er on page
83 and page 130 between 1595 and 1608. This could be when theywere
married and w hen she died.

Andrews - "Christian Lowd one and Henry Boswell his son in law and their
children".
Henry Boswell and Christian Loudoun also show upin a sasine from

children.
Robert listed as a child of John Loudoun in John Loudoun's will in 1618.
In Parish registers, Robert's last name is spelled LOWDONE, in the will
of his father, it is spelled LOUDOUN. This is the same person, the
different spelling's of LOUDOUN are normal fo r this time and as a result
of different scribes, and poorspelling.
Sasine 19 July 1662 - Robert Lowdoune to James Lowdone "only lawfulson
to the deceased Rober t Lowdone and only appointed heir to Alexander
Lowdone his father's brother (burgess) for a t enement of land.
