Veteran Train Man Passes AwayHere
James A Dickinson passed away suddenly at about midnight last night at
his residence on second ave east north.  Mr Dickinson was an operator on
theGreat Northern Railroad and was the oldest man in point of service on
the Kalispell Division.  He had been an operator at Summit for 18 years
and has been grievance man for his brotherhood.  The body is at the
Waggoner and Campbell Chapel.  Funeral Services are incomplete.

Funeral Services for James A Dickinson
There was a large gathering of relatives, neighbors, and friends at the
Presbyterian church yesterday afternoon to pay tribute to the memory of
the late James A Dickinson.The floral tributes were unusually fine,
including several magnificent set pieces, some of them the offering of
the railroad organizations to which Mr Dickinson belonged.
A quartet, composed of Miss Chester, Miss Walchli, Messrs.  Dunsire and
Bruce, sang "Sometime We'll Understand," and "Beautiful Isle."  Mr
Dunsire sang "Face to Face" as a solo.  All three hymns were favorites of
the deceased.  Miss Dais Dubois presided at the piano.  Rev B Scott Bates
brought words of comfort from the text, "The angel of the Lord encampeth
rougn about them that fear him and delivereth them."
After the services at the churcha long line of cars followed the funeral
car to Conrad Memorial Cemetary, where the following named friends bore
the body to its final resting place; A.O. Olsen, O. P. Johnson, H.M.
Petry, Lee Stout, Charles Manwarning and Patrick Carter.
Obituary
James A Dickinson was born at Greenleaf, Wisconsin, March10, 1871, and
grew up there.  At the age of 17, he started west, stopping fora time in
Minnesota and then came on to Montana, where he has lived ever since.
During all this time he was connected to the Great Northern Railway and
was one of the best known and most popular of the employees.
May 8, 1918, hewas united in Marriage to Mrs Clara Dickinson, a
brother's widow, who now survives him.  Ten step-children also survive.
They are Edgar, Howard, James,Herbert, and Lyalus Dickinson; Mrs G W
Goldizen of Kalispell; Mrs Harris Weeks of Fosston, Minnesota; Mrs H W
Mitchell of Glendive, Montana; Mrs John Pennington and Miss Helen
Dickinson of Mandan, North Dakota.  All but one of these were present for
the funeral.
The deceased is also survived by five brothers, Sylvester of Monticello,
Minnesota; John of Minneapolis; George of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Henry of
Bellingham, Washington; and Walter of Denver.  Ofthese Sylvester was
able to come for the funeral services.  Many of Mr. Dickinson's railroad
brothers made a special point to attend the funeral, some coming from as
far away as the Twin Cities.

Clara A Dickinson passed away Thursday in Great Falls at the Age of 77.
Mrs Dickinson had been aresident of this vicinity since 1917, coming to
Kalispell from Glendive, Montana.  She had made her home in Somers for
the past 10 years.
Surviving areher eight children; Helen Dickinson and Mrs W G Goldizen of
Kalispell; Mrs Del Fischer of Somers, Edgar and Mrs H W Mitchell of
Augusta, Montana, Mrs JohnPennington of Mandan, North Dakota, Howard of
Fortine, Herbert of Dishman, Washington.
The body has been brought to the Waggoner and Campbell funeral homeand
funeral services will be held there Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.
Interment will take place at the Conrad Cemetary beside the body of her
husband, James, who preceded her in death in 1928.
