Jean Taylor was born June 26, 1926 in Eugene, OR. She died May 8, 2002 in
Mesa, AZ. She issu rvived by her husband Chester L. "Ted' Taylor,
daughter Debbi Burklund, son Brian Taylor, bro ther Lester Bowers, 10
grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Denise Johnson an d
brother, James Bowers, preceded her in death. She was a faithful member
of the Church of Je sus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the
Arizona Temple for 17 years and Ward Relief S ociety Presidency. She also
showered her love upon 30 foster babies awaiting adoption and tau ght in
the Primary organization. Her kind, thoughtful and lovingways will be
greatly missed . Visitation will be Sunday, May 12, 2002 from 6:00-8:00
PM at Bunker's Garden Chapel, 33 N . Centennial Way, Mesa. Her funeral
service will be Monday, May 13, 2002 at 10:00 AM at the B oulder Creek
Stake Center, 3025 S. Hawes Rd., Mesa, with visitation also 1 hour prior
to the service at the church, In lieu of flowers, donations are invited
to Hospiceof the Valley , East Mesa, 6063 E. Arbor Ave., Mesa, AZ 85206.

James Bowers - Springfield - The funeralwill be held March 27 for
James Bowers of Sprin gfield, who died March 21 ofleukemia. He was 60.
Bowers was born April 20, 1937 in Eugene t o Lester andDaisy Bowers. He
graduated from South Eugene High School and completed two year s of
undergraduate study at the University of Oregon. From 1957 to 1959,
Bowers served in th e Army. He married Constance Kernutt in Eugene on
August 17, 1957. In addition to the Eugene/ Springfield area, Bowers
lived in Huntsville, AL, Bend, Pendleton and Salem. He worked in sal es
and management inradio advertising and sold real estate. Most recently,
Bowers worked a t M. Jacobs Fine Furniture in sales and management. His
interests included antiquecollectio n and restoration, landscaping,
hunting and collecting tools. He enjoyed spending time with f amily and
friends. Bowers was a member and president of Full Gospel Business Men's
Fellowshi p International. Survivors includehis wife, two sons, Kelby of
Cincinnati and Kenton of Ketc hikan, Alaska, two daughters, Wendi Cox of
Eugene and Jenni Calame of Gilbert, AZ, a brother ,Lester of Cupertino,
CA , a sister, Jeannie Taylor of Mesa, AZ and 10 grandchildren. Friday 's
service is at 1pm at Eugene Christian Fellowship in Eugene. Burial will
be at Rest Lawn Me morial Park in Junction City. Major/Fredericksen
Springfield Funeral Home is in charge of arr angements. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Save the Redwood League, 1114 Sansome St
reet, Room 605, San Francisco, CA 94104.
