At Newark (now Niagara) in 1796, he made application for 200 acres:it was granted, but he disappeared without trace immediately thereafter. [Hemust have returned home to give the claim to his family, returning to or fromCanada he disappeared and was presumed dead.] His sons, Abraham and John came themselves a few years later.
