Mary Menefee saw "Uncle Lon" in Calgary in 1929 when she was coming home
from Canada on a trip with mybrother Ed, 4, and me [Glenna - I turned
one on that visit]. We traveled in acompartment on the Canadian Pacific.
For some reason most of the children we re given nicknames based on their
middle names in the Beebe family. Mom thoug ht his name was Lon or Lorne,
but there is no record of a Lorne and I think t he information I was given
by Cynthia Kerns is accurate. Her mother, Edith Sp ears Kerns, is Mom's
cousin and a granddaughter of both Alexander Spears and Augusta Beebe, as
